The price of used pianos By John Jameson

Buying used pianos at the right price. What to look for in a used piano

The price of a used piano is extremely high, well out of my price range. But my daughter really had her heart set on one. As she was performing nicely with her piano lessons, I truly wished to support her to carry on learning to the degree that she might. I checked out some local estate sales, and even paid a visit to a nearby music store. I was disappointed by the low quality and high prices of what I found. I was almost ready to close the book on the idea, but I knew that she really wanted to see this happen.

How to Buy a Used Piano on EBay: In the beginning, the thought of buying a used piano on EBay never crossed my mind. This is because pianos are extremely large. I was actually there looking for a keyboard at a decent price for my daughter. I figured she could use it like a keyboard for daily practice. This way, she could at least practice daily between lessons.

Though, I did discover lots of good looking old pianos presented on e-Bay. In addition, they also had rock-bottom prices. People had certain motives to vend them. Few had to move and had no intention of taking their piano. While some had just stopped playing or had decided to buy a newer more upgraded piano. I thought that maybe their need to change might be turned into a way to realize my daughter's dream.

Checking what is Offered: Of course, unlike smaller items you buy on EBay, getting a piano delivered would be no small feat. However, these sellers had thoroughly researched their options. I was able to cut short my hunt to my local area as well. Many of them would deliver it to me free if I was within 100 miles, or at least offer delivery at a reasonable price. Others could only be picked up locally.

After considering my options, I decided to take the plunge and buy one. It was reasonably cheaper and I couldn't get the beautiful images out of my mind. What's more, I figured that since the cost of this piano was so low, I could even have it tuned by a professional once I bought it.

Placing my Bid: I was in such a nervous state while bidding on my used piano that I could feel my hands clamming up. I believe I was actually nervous I would be outbid. Luckily, the person selling this particular piano offered the option to Buy It Now. I was able to grab it before any competitors could. I needed not wait for the public sale to finish and log into my account quite a few times daily to nervously observe if my offer was still leading or not.

Once I finished the process, the seller emailed me asking me to call him. We discussed the details of the delivery. By the weekend, I bought a beautiful second-hand piano for my daughter. I had it delivered while she was away at her piano lesson. When she came in and saw what was waiting for her, she was completely surprised.
